Welcome
Born in 1955, Mark trained in Birmingham and Cheltenham where he obtained an honours degree in fine art before moving to the West Country to work as an artist and subsequently a graphic designer and illustrator. Mark now lives in Scotland on the Solway Coast and works as an artist, drawing domestic animals to commission in addition to landscape related paintings.
By popular demand the majority of Mark’s commissioned portraits are charcoal and chalks or pencil on paper but for full colour work he is also happy to work in oil, acrylic or pastel. Portraits can be head and shoulder images or more complex multiple images against any background. Mark likes to create the feel of the animal’s individual personality in the portrait and many of his works show them moving or in a setting that is very personal to the owner.
Commissioned portraits can be supplied unframed or in a frame of your choice. Some clients have requested greetings cards using the image of their commissioned portraits and these can be made available on completion. The gallery pages also show a number of non-commissioned pieces which are available for sale unframed or in an existing frame.
